About
Working with attention
I’m a doctoral researcher in medical physics at the University of Oulu, and a data scientist at Talosix. My work applies machine learning and deep learning to clinical trials — using NLP to automate clinical form-filling, and generative models to turn legacy paper case report forms into standardized electronic ones.
I came to software from pharmacy: five years of formulation research and quality assurance before a master’s in data science redirected me toward the modelling side of healthcare. That path is why most of what I write here sits at the seam between the two — the mathematics underneath the methods, worked through slowly enough to actually stick.
These notes are that working-through, kept public mostly to keep myself honest.
